I fabricated a belt buckle that showcases ortho tri-cyclen as a decorative element.
This handmade buckle is a functional birth control case as well as a statement piece; it raises issues of reproductive and sexual health as well as what is considered an “appropriate” accessory. Some women may feel empowered wearing a buckle such as this, while others may feel exposed and embarrassed. The buckle’s placement on the body is evocative yet standard and subject to various judgments and interpretations.
